status, sewing and school

Facebook seems to have taken residence where my blog posts used to reside. Status updates dominate teh creative side of my brain. It is so sad. So irreproducible. So temporary. Must change this.
Sewing has also taken up residence with this so non crafty Martha. I had an epiphany the other day, baffled at my own seam prowess, as to how and why this has happened seeing as I am so not crafty and usually shamelessly mock those who are. It is that with weight watchers, I don't eat as much, thus do not bake as much. But my baking is how I give to others and so now, I sew. I ahve made countless aprons, little stuffed birds, and 4 and counting sweet little summer baby dresses. All for Fairy's baby but getting in some good practice should I ever have my own little baby doll to sew for.
Oh, and a newborn kimono too for my soon to be born cousin. It is white with pale blue polka dots and I am in love with it. Parting will be sweet sorrow.
School is next. I got the acceptance letter and lost my breath. I kind of seriously thought I would not get in. Crap. I did. Now I fear all my sewing and creating is going to go out the window but well, I have until August 27th. Oh dear.
Now for the littles.
Tiny is outof his cast and walking less like a pirate, more like a jock. He is the funny one, still.
Pitufo is reading and being my sensitive D-R-A-M-A child and even sneaked pink bubble gum yesterday. Rule in our house is it is a coming of age, after 5, privilege, and I nearly peed laughing when I caught him with it. The guilt coupled with my laughter broke his heart and he nearly did not recover. Poor baby.
Notorious has turned into quite the big boy, able to share little snickers and giggles at the antics and misbehavior of the littles like we are on the same secret team so wise and knowing to their ignorance and innocence. He is able to handle jokes and pranks mroe now than ever and we have some great real truthful relationship building conversations and it is amazing to be becoming friends and not just the ever foreboding Mother watching hawklike over child. Nice.
There it is ladies...marthas musings for the moment...
