Anybody know that old sunday school song? I will make you fishers of men, fishers of men, fishers of men....well, my littles only heard it fo rthe first time during our family devotions at the river with all 20+ of our clan and Pitufo was just ilusionando with it and asked shyly to sing it again. My poor littles. here we are "missions" people and seriously, we don't sing ANY of those songs at home. Am I a bad mom? rhetorical but still...I just live my life. They see who I am and who I love and obey and well, i totally respect old school religion but don't do the rhetoric but still, there is truth in so many of those old songs and Pitufo, being the old soul that he is, got it that day.
Fast forward two weeks later to swimming lessons. B-I-G is a budding Michael Phelps, swimming and listening to his coaches with such intent and determination, I am thinking there might be a lot of swim meets in our future and finally a sport that I can think of watching and doing for the next 20 or so years...
But really, this post is about Pitufo who loves the old baptist song.
His coaches put him at one end of the pool and put this noodle around him as a boat and he and his classmates were all to kick and swim to the other side of the pool, bouyed by the noodle. I am watching and realize I hear my little old soul often introverted independent child singing at the TOP OF HIS LUNGS across the swimming pool "IF YOU FOOOOOWOH ME>>>>IF YOU FOWOOOOOOH ME. I WILL MAKE YOU FISHUHWS OF MEN IF YOU FOWWOH ME"
I nearly peed it was so cute, so pure, and so bold...
That kid. I love him.
