And then there were three...

Notorious was baptised this weekend in the San Marcos river in front of 22 family member. His great grpnparents, grandparents, brothers and parents and uncles, aunts and cousins. All christ followers and all amazing people. It was beyond anything I have ever imagined and again made me so thankful for th eamazing family I gained when I married Pompey. I could try and explain them here but you wouldn't believe me if I told you even just about the peace and refreshment at being in a house for three days with 22 people under the same roof. And if you know me at all you know that being around lots of people and not getting away is a recipe for disaster internally but I just soak them up. It is never enough and I am always incredibly sad when we leave.
Our morning of the baptism started with a group photo, th ewhole lot of us on the back steps of this amazing river house, and then devotions where Pompey and his uncel told the story of Jesus' baptism and shared some other verses. Then different members shared their own stories which spanned the globe as far as places and ways to be baptised. Amazing. Pompey asked Notorious the perfunctory questions and it is just so fulfilling to me how he totally gets what it is and what is means to love and follow Jesus. I am in awe because we just live our lives. You know? I don't spend hours singing songs and telling Bible stories. We just are who we are and we live what we believe and they get that. After some songs, which my deeply post modern churched children did not know the words to, we all caravanned to the river for the immersion and symbolic gesture of proclaiming to the world and being obedient to God in baptism happened. It was sweet, and natural. Not a lot of hype, just us being us, with our huge and amazing family. No frills. Just real.
On the long drive back home, after some silence, Notorious pipes up and says "Now we have THREE Christ followers in our family!" meaning us in the car...the immediate...very cool.
No pics to post yet since laptop is in rehab for bad behavior but soon...

I don't think you could ask for a more symbolic and meaningful experience. School is over tomorrow, hopefully that will expediate laptop rehab procedure
